HiServer Acceptable Use Policy (Last updated 2026-08-08)
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all services provided by HiServer and forms part of our Terms of Service. It exists to protect the security, stability, and reputation of our network for all clients.
1. Prohibited Content & Activities
- Any content or activity that violates applicable law, including hosting or distributing stolen data, hacking tools intended for unauthorized use, or content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights.
- Child sexual abuse material, in any form, is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities.
- Fraudulent activity of any kind, including phishing sites, fake storefronts, and investment scams.
- Adult or gambling content without prior written approval from HiServer.
2. E-mail & Messaging
- No unsolicited bulk e-mail (spam), whether sent from our network or advertising a site hosted on it.
- Mailing lists must be opt-in, include working unsubscribe mechanisms, and comply with applicable anti-spam laws.
3. Network Abuse
- No denial-of-service attacks, port scanning, IP spoofing, or attempts to gain unauthorized access to any system or account.
- No operation of open resolvers, open proxies, or other services that can be exploited for reflection or amplification attacks.
- No malware distribution, botnet command-and-control, or similar malicious infrastructure.
4. Resource Usage
- Sustained resource usage that degrades other clients’ experience (CPU, RAM, disk I/O, or network) is prohibited on shared infrastructure. Dedicated-server clients may use the full resources of their hardware within the terms of their plan.
- Cryptocurrency mining is not permitted without prior written approval.
- Bandwidth is provided per the specification on the relevant product page; sustained overage may result in throttling or overage fees.
5. IP Address Usage
- IP addresses assigned to your services remain the property of HiServer and must be used in accordance with this AUP.
- Activity that causes IP addresses to be listed on abuse blacklists (spam, fraud, attacks) may result in immediate recovery of those addresses and associated remediation charges.
6. Enforcement
- We may investigate suspected violations and, depending on severity, warn, suspend, or terminate the affected service. Where practicable we will notify you and give you an opportunity to remedy the issue; severe violations (illegal content, active attacks, fraud) may result in immediate suspension without notice.
- Services suspended or terminated for AUP violations are not eligible for refunds, as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- We may cooperate with law-enforcement requests made through valid legal process.
7. Reporting Abuse
- To report abuse originating from our network, contact [email protected] with the relevant logs, timestamps, and IP addresses. We review all reports.
